Everything You Need to Know About Medical CBD Consumption

When you think of medicine, what do you imagine? If you’re like many people, you’d say popping a pill or drinking a bit of liquid from a bottle poured into a tiny cup. While this type of medicine is important, particularly if you have a headache or sore throat, they are far from the only types of medicine out there. Did you know a medical condition like anxiety can be eased with a tincture? We’re talking about CBD!

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in cannabis and hemp. CBD oil does not contain delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC. This is the compound that gives marijuana its psychoactive properties. At Polaris, our CBD for medical consumption has less than .3% THC so you won’t have a feeling of being “high” or “stoned.” What you’ll feel is relief! We also have THC Free Organic Tinctures if you prefer to have no THC at all.

There’s a lot to learn and a lot to love about CBD. Don’t take our word for it! In June 2018, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the prescription use of Epidiolex, a purified form of CBD oil, for treating two types of epilepsy. That’s not all! CBD may benefit a person’s health in various ways. According to a 2018 study, reasons for taking CBD oil include:

  • Chronic pain
  • Addiction
  • Arthritis or joint pain
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Sleep disorder
  • Migraine, cluster and other headaches
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Nausea
  • Cancer
  • Allergies or asthma
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Lung conditions
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Alzheimer’s disease

There is even evidence to support these uses. A 2012 review found evidence that CBD may help prevent the spread of some types of cancer. The compound appears to suppress the growth of cancer cells and promote their destruction. In 2014, a rodent study designed to help those with Alziehmer’s showed that CBD might help people retain the ability to recognize familiar faces. A 2015 review found evidence that CBD may help people with opioid addiction disorders. A 2019 study showed that CBD significantly reduced symptoms of anxiety in mice. This is only the beginning! That means if you suffer from any of these, organic medicinal CBD is worth looking into.

While conventional drugs can help relieve symptoms of the above mentioned conditions, many people see CBD as a more natural alternative.

Our CBD comes in the form of a tincture. A tincture is essentially a little dropper that places the oil into your mouth, probably under your tongue. Tinctures are the perfect product for finding your preferred dose! You can measure your dose easily and without mistakes. As well, tinctures are discrete. You may not want to tell someone at work or even in your family you are suffering from a condition aided by CBD and with a tincture, you won’t have to. In addition, effects from a cannabis tincture set in rather quickly. You’ll feel the relief you need very soon!

If you’ve ever been curious about medicinal CBD, now is the time to give it a try.
